Virgin River Family Honors Late Co-Star In Emotional Messages

Now that Mel and Jack are officially husband and wife, Virgin River Season 7 is exploring what comes next for the beloved couple.

According to showrunner Patrick Sean Smith, the latest season shifts away from constant romantic uncertainty and instead focuses on the realities of building a future together.

That includes settling into life on the farm, navigating emotional challenges, and potentially taking steps toward parenthood.

“We’ve only just begun to see Mel and Jack as a married couple,” Smith explained.

The season also widens its focus beyond the newlyweds. Hope and Doc continue proving that love stories don’t end later in life, while Lizzie and Denny prepare for parenthood and Preacher and Kaia strengthen their relationship after difficult experiences together.

New cast additions are expected to shake things up as well, especially Sara Canning’s Victoria and Austin Nichols’ mysterious connection to Mel’s past.

With Season 8 already confirmed, Virgin River clearly isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
