Questions Grow After Sudden Death of Virgin River Actor Inside Home
The sudden death of actor Stewart McLean has left friends, family, and fellow performers searching for answers — and remembering the warmth he brought to their lives.
The Canadian actor, recognized for roles in Virgin River, Travelers, and Supernatural, was found dead in Lions Bay, British Columbia, after disappearing earlier this month. Investigators later confirmed they were treating the case as a homicide.

In the days following the announcement, emotional tributes flooded social media.
Jeff Seymour, a close friend and collaborator, described McLean as intelligent, thoughtful, and impossible not to love. Seymour revealed he immediately became concerned after McLean unexpectedly missed a filming commitment, calling the actor extremely reliable and detail-oriented.
Director Ryan Minaker also honored McLean online, saying the performer “stole the show in every project” while remaining humble and approachable throughout his career.

McLean’s talent representatives echoed those sentiments, remembering him as endlessly positive and passionate about acting at every level of production.
His family says they will miss him “incredibly.”
